Empathy is a core component of effective teams
In terms of a dictionary Empathy is the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing from within their frame of reference, that is, the capacity to place oneself in another's position. Usually, effective leaders who seem to possess higher emotional intelligence and who are excellent in their interpersonal skills often mention empathy as an essential attribute to their success. Here at Rate My Meeting, we provide a safe space space for all participants to speak openly and to do this, we allow by starting off ourselves and then encouraging others to do the very same. Empathy for difficult work situations is a core component of Effective Teams.
What does Empathy do?
People need to feel valued and heard, and they need to know that you understand where they’re coming from. Providing an empathetic background does not mean that you are receding from your point, it merely shows that amidst your views, you have stopped to consider and listen to the point different than your own.
